I prepare curd rice when I am lazy to prepare whole meal, because all it needs is a good tempering (tadka). I can eat this dish at any time of my meal, and it is my lunch box favourite. I usually prepare this mosaranna recipe with left over chilled rice.It is an excellent dish to be served during scorching heat of summer.
Mosaranna recipe is served at the end of the meal before dessert in south indian platter. Serve chilled curd rice with pickle and papadams.

Mosaranna recipe | Curd rice recipe
Serves : 2 people
Preparation time : 5mins
Cook time : 10 mins
3 cup cooked rice
200 gm curd(thick)
1 cup /250 ml milk
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp chana dal
1 tsp ginger chopped
2 long red chilli roughly cut
2 green chilli chopped
14-15 curry leaves
pinch of asafoetida
salt to taste
coriander leaves for garnishing
Step by step method
1. Add milk, curd and salt to cold rice and mix it.
4. Add this tempering to rice and mix well.
5. Serve this chilled.
1. Always use chilled or room temperature rice, for curd rice recipe.
2. I’ve used short grain rice(sona masoori), you can even use basmati rice.
